Are you homeschooled?

Nastia is not homeschooled but rather attends a specialist school in Texas that accommodates the demanding schedules of students who are also developing their talents in athletics, the performing arts, and other intense outside interests. She will graduate soon and was recently offered a place at SMU in Dallas, TX where she is planning to begin taking classes in the Fall 2007 combining study with a full training schedule.

Can you send me an autograph?

Nastia is not available to be contacted by her fans through AOL Instant Messenger, MSN Messenger or any other chat program and therefore we are unable to give out her screenname. Do you respond to each question you are asked on the website?

In the past Nastia did her very best to answer every question submitted through her website. However due to an enormous increase in the volume of questions and increased pressures on Nastia's time, we have been forced to change the format of this section of Nastia's website. From March 2007 we began the monthly search for a fan to conduct an interview with Nastia. The selected fan is offered the chance to submit 10 questions for Nastia to answer and will receive a personally autographed photo from Nastia. In addition Nastia will answer 5 of the best additional questions submitted by other fans during that month. Click here to submit your application.

What kind of things do you eat?

Nastia does not follow any specific diet. She eats whatever she likes but by choice she generally prefers to eat healthy foods. Her favorite food is Sushi.

Do you speak Russian or English at home?

Nastia and her parents speak both Russian and English at home.

How did you do in insert competition name?

Almost as soon as Nastia competes in any competition, all of the information about her performance including her results are posted in her NEWSROOM. Sometimes we are unable to send Nastia your questions about a competition until well after the event has concluded. If you want to find out how she went in her most recent competitions, it is best to visit the newsroom!

Do you train with Carly Patterson?

Nastia trains at WOGA (World Olympic Gymnastics Academy) which is the gym where Carly Patterson trained in the lead up to the 2004 Olympic Games. Carly has since retired from gymnastics competition concentrating her efforts on establishing a singing career. Although they were often in the gym at the same time Nastia did not train in the same group as Carly. Carly was coached by Evgeny Marchenko and Natasha Boyarskaya while Nastia is trained by her father Valeri Liukin and Natalya Marakova. The gymnasts who train with Nastia are Allison Taylor, Stephanie Turner, Christa Tanella, Abby Wilson, Nicole Dory, Cynthia Duhart, Andrea Orris, Katie Matusik, Brooke Wiley, Courtney Levering and Allison Schmol.

How many hours a week do you train?

Nastia trains for approximately 36 hours a week.

How tall are you?

Nastia is 5' or approximately 1.52m tall.

Are you planning to do college gymnastics?

Nastia will not compete in NCAA gymnastics competition intending to concentrate on her academics rather than an athletic collegiate career. She was recently accepted at SMU in Dallas and will begin taking classes in the Fall.

I just saw Stick It. Was that really Nastia I saw?

Yes, in 2005 Nastia filmed a role in the gymnastics themed feature film Stick It, released in April 2006! In the movie she played herself and had a small speaking part in addition to filming a number of action sequences.

I can't get my insert skill. Can you help me?

Gymnastics is a very difficult sport. While Nastia would love to be able help her fans overcome the problems you are having in learning or perfecting a skill, it is almost impossible for her to provide advice about how to correct a problem she cannot see. If you are having a problem perfecting or learning a skill, Nastia's advice is always the same - keep working as hard as you can towards your goals (no matter how big or small) and listen to the advice of your coach.
