Appearances, Charities, From Nast 12 comments

Hey!

Hope you are all doing great. I thought it was about time for an update. First off all I would like to congratulate Shawn on winning DWTS!!!!! She did a great job & what a wonderful thing for the sport of gymnastics!

Can’t believe it has already been 9 months since the Olympics. Time certainly goes by so fast. I have been so busy lately doing so many great things. Modeling, photo shoots, charity events, and OF COURSE training! I am so excited to tell you guys that I FINALLY got a new floor routine :) Keeping it a secret for now, but I really hope you will like it! It’s time for me to start a new journey and second part to my career, so I needed a fresh start.

I got to coach in my first gymnastics clinic over the weekend at SIGS Gymnastics in New Albany, IN. I had a great time and it was so much fun sharing my knowledge that my dad has shared with me over the years! While I was there I also had a lunch with some very special kids from the “Make-A-Wish Foundation”.

I went to LA last week and had a few meetings and also got to spend a little time with some good friends. I have some really exciting things coming up, but I will fill you in a little later ;)

June 6th I am going to be the honorary chair for the Susan G Koman Race for the Cure in North Texas. Please register for this great cause if you live in the area! http://www.komennorthtexas.org/race.html

New floor routine + new leotards + summer heat = COMPETITION SEASON!!!!! This year will definitely not be easy, especially with all my travels, but I am truly excited to get back where I belong… on the competition floor! VISA Championships in DALLAS & Worlds in LONDON (same arena that the gymnastics will be in during 2012 Olympics!) BRING IT ON!!!

Holiday update :)

Charities, From Nast 21 comments

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! I got to spend mine with my family in Russia! While I was there I also performed in Alexei Nemov’s annual gymnastics gala. It was so much fun! There were gymnasts, artistic, rhythmic, acro, tumbling and trampoline. There were dancers, and also figure skaters. It was so cold in Moscow, started to snow the day we got there! The day before we went to Russia,I went to Marseille, France for the Gala there.

After Moscow, my parents and I got to go to Paris!!! I have always wanted to go there and I finally got the chance! We spent two days just walking around the city, going to museums, shopping and eating at really good restaurants! I will post some pictures soon :)

Now that tour is finally over, I am getting back in the gym and started to get in shape! It feels so good to be back at WOGA. I am still traveling quite a bit, mostly promoting my new line of jeans from Vanilla Star Jeans which came out this week!!! It will be for sale at Macy’s & Wet Seal.

I also did a Toy Drive at WOGA Frisco today with Carly for the Dallas Morning News Charity. It was so amazing to see how many people came and brought toys for the children! I wanted to thank everyone that came out and supported such a great cause! I love the Holiday season, and it always makes me feel good to give, especially to a charity!

Later this month I am going to be performing in the Gymnastics & Skating Spectacular in South Dakota. This will be my third time doing it. It is such a fun show to take part in, so I am very excited!!

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!!

XOXO

Charities 9 comments

Nastia and twenty three other celebrities including Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Simpson, Brooke Shields, Marcia Cross, Cindy Crawford, Kelly Ripa put their artistic skills to work for UGG® Australia’s sixth annual Art & Sole Collection. Using the word ‘hope’ as their muse, the select group painted signature UGG® Australia Classic Boots creating one-of-a-kind pieces of art. The hand painted one-of-a kind boots will be auctioned off on www.uggaustralia.com Dec. 1 – 14 with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, one of the world’s premier pediatric cancer research centers.

Art & Sole is a nationwide program created by UGG® Australia, in which boots that reflect the artist’s personality and dedication to charity are auctioned off. This is the fourth consecutive year that St. Jude will benefit from the auction that has raised more than $225,000 for the hospital to date. “Art & Sole is our opportunity to give back to a great cause like St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and help to make a difference,” says Connie Rishwain, President of UGG® Australia.

“The Art & Sole charity auction is a wonderfully unique way to support the lifesaving work of St. Jude,” says David L. McKee, chief operating officer and interim chief executive officer of ALSAC, the fundraising organization of St. Jude. “We are so grateful for the dedication that UGG Australia has shown to our patients and families. And we appreciate the time and talent that went into creating these boots, which speak to the hope that St. Jude gives to children battling cancer and other catastrophic diseases.”

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. St. Jude is the first and only pediatric cancer center to be designated as a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute. Founded by late entertainer Danny Thomas and based in Memphis, Tenn., St. Jude freely shares its discoveries with scientific and medical communities around the world. St. Jude is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance. No child is ever denied treatment because of the family’s inability to pay. St. Jude is financially supported by ALSAC, its fundraising organization. For more information, please visit www.stjude.org
